Michael Maguire, Psy.D.
Welcome.
Just about everyone experiences difficult times in their lives. Sometimes these are temporary, such as during or after a life transition, and sometimes these are more chronic where we become stuck. Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, work or school concerns, or something else, I imagine you are seeking help because you are not feeling the way you wish to feel. I also imagine that you have hope that it can get better.
You will find me to be warm, genuine, and gently challenging to help push the edge of healing at a pace that is right for you. We will work together to determine that pace. I believe that you have the capacity to heal, but may need help exploring, learning, and taking the challenging steps toward that end.
I am honored to do the work I do. I have over twenty years of experience working with adults, couples, college students, and young children in a variety of settings. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, relationship (romantic, sexual, familial, and social) difficulties, self-esteem, sex and intimacy, substance use/abuse/dependence, emotion regulation, grief and loss, gender identity, power / privilege / marginalization, eating disorders, bullying, trauma and abuse.
Please use the tabs on the left of his page to find out more about me and the way I work. You will also find contact information, directions to my office, policy and fee information, and forms/paperwork.
I look forward to the possibility of meeting with you.
